All righty. So I think I talk too fast for the camera, which is fun (and probably means my posse on the other side of the Pacific will only understand a third of what I'm saying) but otherwise I don't think it's too bad for my first outing into vlogging with no idea what I'm doing. Eventually, I will get some sleep and post something utterly profound and amazing.

That or I may talk entirely about my cat.

So...there's a 100mb limit for video posts. I think this one is twenty-something and it's about six minutes long or so. Too early for math, but I think that means I could do maximum length of around 30 minutes...right? No? I have no idea. I need to figure out how to upload videos to my website and just host them there. That would probably be ideal. If it's even possible.

Yes, on purpose.

You see, I've got me a fancy new laptop with a fancy webcam in it and I've decided to do like everyone else on the planet and start blogging with video! I have absolutely no desire to be some sort of internet sensation. (No, really, I really don't.) My motivation is actually all my lovelies who live across the country and across the planet and never get to see me or hear me. Granted, it's not like having a real conversation, but it's better than text. I'm not sure what my topics will be. I will try to have topics, though. When I don't, I ramble, and that gets a little tedious and ridiculous and I'm not cruel enough to subject more people to that than I already do. ;o) My other motivation is getting myself over hating being in pictures and being filmed in any way, or simply being a center of attention. I'd like to have a conversation with a group of people where I don't turn five million shades of red when all the focus turns to me.

So, yeah. It's probably going to suck at first because I have absolutely no presence other than awkward, but it should become more entertaining as I become more comfortable with it. At least, I hope so. We'll see.

I don't know when the first video post will be. Right now I'm going on about three hours of sleep so I look a little dead, which isn't exactly what I want for my first image. Plus, I've not really an idea what the hell to talk about yet. There's been suggestions of doing a book review for Mortal Coils or talking about the ever shrinking sci-fi/fantasy section in the bookstores. Or, you know, people's inability to drive, but we'll see what I feel most comfortable doing. It might end up being something else entirely.

I know. The suspense is insane!
